The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a disappointing 94-94-103 draw. The TSX Venture Exchange gained 17 points to 896 while polished diamond prices inched upward. Chuck Fipke's Metalex Ventures Ltd. (MTX) gained one-half cent to 5.5 cents on 451,000 shares. There has been no word in weeks from the company, which hopes to bulk test an intriguing kimberlite in Northern Ontario.

A fight for control of a hapless diamond explorer is brewing. A dissident group has called for a special meeting of shareholders of Denis Hayes and Simon Tam's Gem International Resources Inc. (GI) to replace the company's current board with three dissident nominees. Gem International, which gained one-half cent to two cents on 834,000 shares, has not yet responded to the challenge. The dissidents, led by John Barr's Mosman Oil and Gas Ltd., which owns 17 per cent of Gem's shares, claim the support of other shareholders who collectively own an additional 21 per cent of the stock.

MTX comment...NO word in weeks...you mean months or years?? The only info available in through public chat rooms....interesting comment on your part

No, I mean weeks. Metalex, like all reporting issuers, puts out quarterly reports. The last one was Dec. 19, 2017. That's umm, nearly four weeks ago.

Public chat rooms are not information providers. At least they better not be.
