The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a ho-hum 75-79-124. The TSX Venture Exchange lost nine points to 880 while polished diamond prices gained 0.1 per cent. Grenville Thomas and Ken Armstrong's North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR) gained one cent to 24 cents on 34,000 shares. The company has had no news in a few months, but that should change soon. North Arrow is expecting the results of mini-bulk sampling at its Q1-4 kimberlite at Naujaat in central Nunavut.
Michael Schuss's Canadian International Minerals Inc. (CIN), unchanged at 27.5 cents on 3,000 shares, has sold 2.46 million flow-through shares at 20 cents, raising $491,000. Mr. Schuss, president and chief executive officer, set out in late November to sell just one million of the shares, but a few days later he boosted the total to 2.5 million. In mid-November he also proposed selling four million regular shares at 16 cents, but there has been no word since then about that placement. Mr. Schuss had planned to use the cash from both placements for exploration.
