The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a ho-hum 69-78-115. The TSX Venture Exchange fell one point to 794 while polished diamond prices edged higher. Lukas Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC), had a good day without benefit of news, gaining nine cents to $2.47 on 1.04 million shares. The company continues to do well and pay 2.5-cent quarterly dividends from the profits from its Karowe mine in Botswana. Michael England's Alix Resources Corp. (AIX) gained one-half cent to four cents on 1.82 million shares. The company is focused on its Jackpot lithium project in Northwestern Ontario.

James Bruchs's Tsodilo Resources Ltd. (TSD), up four cents to 66 cents on 36,000 shares, has wrapped up the large diameter drilling of a bulk sample from the BK-16 kimberlite in Botswana. The company completed 14 holes across the six-hectare pipe using a 24-inch Elephant rig. The $1.7-million program that began late in August was completed on time and within budget. Tsodilo is now processing the kimberlite through its 10-tonne-per-hour dense media separation plant, which will probably average about half that rate once the required cleanings and maintenance are factored in.
