The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a ho-hum 66-72-124. The TSX Venture Exchange fell four points to 785 while polished diamond prices were flat. Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC) added one cent to $17.93 on 89,000 shares. Dennis Washington's Washington Group is poised to complete its $14.25 (U.S.) takeover of the company this fall.
Jim Greig's Crystal Exploration Inc. (CEI), unchanged at nine cents on 22,000 shares, is seeking more cash. It is offering 7.14 million shares at seven cents to raise $500,000. The company is also amending the terms of a flow-through placement it began in mid-September, in which it is now offering 2.22 million flow-through shares at nine cents, for $200,000. When first proposed, Crystal was hoping to sell 4.17 million flow-through shares at 12 cents for $500,000. If successful, Crystal Exploration will end up with $200,000 more than it was initially seeking but will have to issue nearly 5.2 million more shares than it had initially planned.
