The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a mediocre 61-69-133. The TSX Venture Exchange lost four points to 771 while polished diamond prices were flat. Ken MacNeill and George Read's Shore Gold Inc. (SGF) dipped one-half cent to 18 cents on 1.51 million shares today, setting a new post-arrangement low of 17.5 cents. The arrangement, reached in June, allows Rio Tinto to earn a 60-per-cent interest in Shore's Star-Orion South diamond project in central Saskatchewan.
Grenville Thomas and Ken Armstrong's North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR), up 3.5 cents to 25 cents on 17,000 shares, has wrapped up its summer drilling and mini-bulk sampling at the Q1-4 kimberlite on its Naujaat project in central Nunavut. The $3-million program included nearly 3,500 metres of core drilling spread across 11 new holes, designed to better define the geometry of the big horseshoe-shaped pipe. The company also collected 234 wet tonnes of kimberlite from a new surface site to better assess the diamond grades, populations and values within the big pipe.
