The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a so-so 58-65-134. The TSX Venture Exchange fell seven points to 792 while polished diamond prices inched lower. Ken MacNeill and George Read's Shore Gold Inc. (SGF), 19 cents last month and 44 cents earlier this week, continues to trade actively. Shore, which says it is in the early stage of talks about a possible earn-in deal at Star-Orion South, rose four cents to 38 cents on 596,000 shares today.
Jim Gowans's Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC), up one cent to $17.33 on 86,000 shares, has acquired a 100-per-cent interest in the Buffer claims on the northern, eastern and southeastern fringe of the Ekati property, just north of Lac de Gras in the Northwest Territories. Dr. Stewart Blusson's Archon Minerals Ltd. (ACS: $1.45) has transferred its 34.7-per-cent interest in Buffer to Dominion in exchange for a 2.3 per cent gross production royalty.
