The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a weak 60-72-130. The TSX Venture Exchange fell fractionally to 789 while polished diamond prices fell 0.2 per cent. Glenn Kelly's Orbite Technologies Inc. (ORT) lost one cent to 27.5 cents on 1.51 million shares. Orbite's stock continues to slowly sink as investors -- and potential customers -- await word that the company has managed to produce some high-purity alumina at its high-purity alumina plant, which was declared to have "started production activities" at the end of September.
Ellen Clements's New Nadina Explorations Ltd. (NNA), unchanged at 8.5 cents on 22,000 shares, is running out of time at Monument, its mothballed diamond project on the southern shore of Lac de Gras. The company has until September to make use of the five-year land use permit that it acquired in the fall of 2012. Unfortunately, New Nadina's co-venturers, Dr. Stewart Blusson's Archon Minerals Ltd. (ACS: $1.45) and Dr. Christopher Jennings, appear to have given up hope that Ms. Clements will ever find the cash to resume work on the project. (New Nadina holds a 57-per-cent interest in Monument; Archon and Dr. Jennings share the rest.)
