The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a strong 80-54-132. The TSX Venture Exchange gained six points to 714 while polished diamond prices lost 0.3 per cent. Eric Friedland and Tom Peregoodoff's Peregrine Diamonds Ltd. (PGD) gained one-half cent to 21 cents on 1.41 million shares. The company is to reveal a dream sheet for its Chidliak project on Baffin Island before the end of June. It is also drilling five kimberlites in Botswana.
Brian Testo's Grizzly Discoveries Inc. (GZD: $0.065) is resuming work at its diamond project in the Buffalo Hills of Northern Alberta. The company has about 90,000 hectares of land in the area, much of it surrounding the core Buffalo Hills property and its three dozen kimberlite discoveries. Grizzly has gnawed off several old finds from that main project area over the years. It has also discovered three of its own, for a total of seven. Mr. Testo, president and chief executive officer, says two of those pipes, BE-02 and BE-03, are "considered highly diamondiferous" and warrant future bulk sampling.
