The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a ho-hum 64-62-133. The TSX Venture Exchange fell three points to 671 while polished diamond prices inched higher. Leni Keough's Olivut Resources Ltd. (OLV) gained three cents to 18 cents on 13,000 shares. Olivut is inching along glacially with its HOAM diamond prospect, south of Great Bear Lake in the Northwest Territories. The company is amassing drill targets, but needs cash.

Dr. Stewart Blusson's Archon Minerals Ltd. (ACS: $1.71) is cheering the plans of Robert Gannicott's Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC: $14.31), its co-venturer, to bring two Buffer pipes into production. Dr. Blusson quotes an unnamed "visionary BHP Billiton executive" as once having said, "why explore further when several great assets are ready for mining." Those assets, to Dr. Blusson, include the Lynx and Jay pipes. He expects "appreciable income" from the Lynx pipe within a year or two, producing an early revenue stream that "should materially reduce" Archon's current 34.7-per-cent share of the capital costs for Jay.
