The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a ho-hum 39-37-159. The TSX Venture Exchange rose fractionally to 500 while polished diamond prices were flat. Eric Friedland and Tom Peregoodoff's Peregrine Diamonds Ltd. (PGD) closed unchanged at 11 cents on 278,000 shares. Investors, who were not so happy with the grade result at CH-7, are now hoping for a pleasant surprise from the diamond valuations. Glenn Kelly's Orbite Technologies Inc. (ORT) lost two cents to 30 cents on 4.12 million shares. The company is raising more cash for work on its high-purity alumina plant on Gaspe peninsula.

Dr. Stewart Blusson's Archon Minerals Ltd. (ACS: $1.74) thinks there will be a new push to explore the Ekati properties, just north of Lac de Gras, including the Buffer claims where the company holds a 34.7-per-cent interest. Dr. Blusson, a co-discoverer of the Ekati mine, nevertheless appears conflicted by the move. Dr. Blusson leads off his latest quarterly discussion of Buffer by noting the company's majority partner, Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC: $14.99), has "adopted the view first annunciated and acted on by a visionary BHP Billiton executive a few years ago." That unnamed visionary saw no reason to explore further when there were several assets ready for mining.

nemaska and durango: since September 2015, the price for Lithium has been widely reported to have doubled

Interesting indeed -- if it lasts.

I don't know if your timeline and purported increase are accurate, but lithium is perhaps the only commodity enjoying a solid run these days.

That's why there are so many juniors chasing lithium these days.

Cheers,

Will
