The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a positive 40-31-164. The TSX Venture Exchange gained two points to 492 while polished diamond prices edged lower. Ken MacNeill and George Read's Shore Gold Inc. (SGF) closed unchanged at 18.5 cents on 109,000 shares. Shore continues to tread water as investors wait for the Saskatchewan government to give approval for the company's big Star-Orion South diamond mine in central Saskatchewan. They also want to hear where Shore will find the $2-billion to build the mine. Guy Bourassa's Nemaska Lithium Inc. (NMX) gained 1.5 cents to 38.5 cents on 832,000 shares. Nemaska has been trading actively of late, and although it is off its recent high of 47.5 cents, it is well above the 16-cent range where it traded last summer.

Grenville Thomas and Ken Armstrong's North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR), up two cents to 22 cents on 56,000 shares, expects to start its next drill program at its Pikoo diamond project in Northern Saskatchewan within three weeks. Mr. Armstrong, president and chief executive officer, says the company began planning for the upcoming drilling just after it wrapped up its 2015 field program in October. North Arrow's 2016 plan includes defining the full extent of the known kimberlites, including the promising PK-150 pipe as well as the PK-311 and PK-312 kimberlites. North Arrow will also test new targets gleaned from an airborne geophysical program the company completed last year.
