The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Friday was a positive 44-41-153. The TSX Venture Exchange gained two points to 520 while polished diamond prices inched higher. Lukas Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC), up six cents to $2.16 on 3.22 million shares, continues to trade actively in the wake of its recovery of three diamonds weighing a total of well over 2,000 carats. William Dawes's Mkango Resources Ltd. (MKA) closed unchanged at 2.5 cents on 2.27 million shares. The company recently updated its dream sheet for the Songwe Hill rare earth project in Malawi.

Ryan Kalt's Strike Diamond Corp. (SRK: $0.02) requested a halt this week to say it found dozens of kimberlite targets. Unfortunately, the most prospective features identified in an airborne geophysical program this fall are deemed ho-hum at best. Strike's geophysicists identified 97 anomalies on its big Sask Craton property and ranked them on a scale of one -- a likely kimberlite -- to five -- unlikely to be a kimberlite. The best of the features, 19 in all, are priority three targets, with the remaining 78 featured classified as fours. The geophysicists say the latter targets are "generally not felt worthy of concerted ground investigation."
