The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a positive 54-52-142. The TSX Venture Exchange rose fractionally to 703 while polished diamond prices inched lower. Patrick Power's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD) gained one cent to 5.5 cents on 1.19 million shares. The company has acquired several new diamond plays over the past year but has not said a word about exploring any of them this spring. Mr. Power has been working on a $1.7-million placement but the sale appears stalled. Nikolas Perrault's Colt Resources Inc. (GTP) gained 1.5 cents to 15.5 cents on 581,000 shares. Colt has raised $2-million for its Tabuaco tungsten project in Portugal.

Dr. Thomas Morris's Northern Superior Resources Inc. (SUP: $0.025) says its marketing of the Ville Marie diamond property in the Temiscamingue region of Quebec is "generating interest from potential partners." Dr. Morris, CEO, says the long-dormant prospect hosts two kimberlite discoveries including one diamondiferous pipe. The property also hosts eight drill-ready targets and Dr. Morris says a budget has been prepared for testing them. It is unclear if this is the same budget as the one Northern Superior prepared in the late 2000s but never put into action. It is also unclear what happened to two of the targets; Dr. Morris was touting 10 of them last year.
