The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a weak 38-64-139 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell fractionally to 663. Polished diamond prices, up 2 per cent last week, gave back that gain today. Prices nevertheless remain 2 per cent above a four-year low set early this year. Lukas Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) fell six cents to $1.74 on 1.04 million shares. Lucara, a 50-cent stock two years ago, traded as high as $2.88 last summer as the company's Karowe mine produced a bounty of large and valuable gems, doubling its feasibility revenue projections and supporting an eight-cent annual dividend last year. The big gems keep coming but they now are old news, and Lucara's rally has gradually been unwinding. Ron Roda's graphite promotion, Alabama Graphite Corp. (ALP) fell 5.5 cents to 23.5 cents on 3.91 million shares. Alabama jumped 10 cents over two days late last week after it found natural flake graphene at its Coosa graphite project.
