The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a weak 42-48-161. The TSX Venture Exchange gained three points to 673 while polished diamond prices jumped 2 per cent. Robert Gannicott's Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC) rose to a new six-year high today, gaining 42 cents to $21.88 on 424,000 shares. Dominion, one of just a few active diamond miners, is doing well enough at Ekati and Diavik that it is expanding its mines into two new pipes, Jay and A-21. Meanwhile, retail investors speculate the company is looking to buy into new projects as well. Mark Smith and Peter Dickie's Niocorp Developments Ltd. (NB) continues to soar. It gained 11 cents to $1.82 on 2.62 million shares, its sixth straight day of gains that began with the stock at just 89 cents last week. Niocorp is finally gaining notice for its Elk Creek niobium project in Nebraska. The company has expanded its resource to include scandium and it may get a loan guarantee from Germany.

Hi WillP

it appears that DDC's 85Mct into 43-101 probable category appears to be a rather under-rated (and under-reported) accomplishment! All DDC's resources are on the table now.

Three majors, (well, two, unless Putin is allowed) and a Junior with 290M ct and the cash to develop it. Who is more committed to growth in diamonds? Rio or Anglo?

Guidance and good news, with a large offside short position facing dividends?

good times! Borson
