The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Friday was a ho-hum 59-58-154. The TSX Venture Exchange fell two points to 769 while polished diamond prices surged upward nearly 1.5 per cent. Matt Manson's Stornoway Diamond Corp. (SWY) gained one cent to 57 cents on 860,000 shares. Stornoway is well below the 70-cent price at which it sold $375-million worth of shares in May, and trading for less than half the $1.22 it sold for in March, just before Mr. Manson arranged his $944-million financing of Stornoway's Renard diamond mine. Richard Schler and Craig Scherba's Energizer Resources Inc. (EGZ) closed unchanged at 15 cents on 355,000 shares. Energizer is plodding along with development of its Molo graphite project in Madagascar. Molo has 100 million tonnes measured and indicated at 6.27 per cent graphite and 41 million inferred at 5.8 per cent, with nearly half that rock averaging 7.9 per cent graphite. A feasibility study is expected within the next two months.
