The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a bleak 38-72-155 as the TSX Venture Exchange slumped another 18 points to 877. Polished diamond prices slid 0.1 per cent. Nicholas Houghton's True North Gems Inc. (TGX) fell one cent to 11 cents on 1.0 million shares. True North has the cash to build its little Aappaluttoq ruby and sapphire mine on the western coast of Greenland. The seasonal mine will cost just under $40-million to build if all goes well. The company hopes to sell up to $88-million of convertible debentures to tide it over while it fixes flaws at its lithium mine near Val d'Or. Unfortunately, the stock has lost half its value since Mr. Clark revealed the proposed sale.
