Miles Clyne, a former Raymond James Ltd. employee, has filed a counterclaim against the firm in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, claiming that he was wrongfully dismissed. He says that Raymond James imposed unreasonable restrictions on him that resulted in him losing business. The firm then fired him for no good reason, he says.
The allegations by Mr. Clyne are contained in a counterclaim and response filed on Wednesday, Aug. 30. In the documents, he describes himself as an investment adviser of 21 years. He was at Raymond James from 2007 to 2014, and became a Raymond James employee again in 2016 when his then-employer, MacDougall Investment Counsel Inc., was acquired by Raymond James. He managed 260 accounts with $80-million in assets.
