Tumi Resources completes Mezquite survey

2010-08-09 12:39 ET - News Release

Mr. David Henstridge reports

TUMI COMPLETES A THREE DIMENSIONAL IP SURVEY AT MEZQUITE, MEXICO

Tumi Resources Ltd. has completed a three-dimensional induced polarization survey at the Mezquite silver-zinc-lead project under option to the company in Mexico. The project area is located about 250 kilometres by road east of Hermosillo, Sonora.

Thirteen lines totalling 11.7 km, ranging from 600 metres to 1,050 m in length and spaced at 100-metre intervals, were surveyed across the three claims. The host rock to the mineralization is a dolostone belonging to the Proterozoic Palmar formation. The block underlying the claims extends for about eight km north-south by two km east-west. The survey covers old prospecting pits within the dolostone that are randomly located over a length of 1,600 m and width of up to 400 m. Thirteen previously reported grab samples from these pits ranged from 111 grams per tonne to 600 g/t silver, 0.45 per cent to 14.4 per cent lead and 1.5 per cent to 38.6 per cent zinc. Nine of the 13 samples assayed above 280 g/t Ag, suggesting that silver is present in significant quantities at Mezquite. David Henstridge, president and chief executive officer of Tumi, stated: "The disseminated nature of the mineralization, seen over such an area and found within a favourable carbonate host rock, has the potential to develop into a bulk tonnage deposit. The IP data have been forwarded to an independent qualified geophysicist for interpretation, and we look forward to the results and hope that they will enable us to better target an initial drill program."

The qualified person for Tumi's projects is Mr. Henstridge, a fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. He has visited the Mezquite silver-zinc-lead project in Sonora, Mexico, and verified the contents of this news release.
