SHERRITT ANNOUNCES QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

Sherritt International Corp.'s board of directors has approved a quarterly dividend, with respect to the fourth quarter of 2011, of 3.8 cents per common share, payable Jan. 16, 2012, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Dec. 30, 2011. This regular dividend is an eligible dividend as defined in the Income Tax Act (Canada).
