APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS
New Guinea Gold Corp. is appointing Lachlan McIntosh and Mathew Wood as directors of the company.
Mr. McIntosh and Mr. Wood were elected by shareholders at the company's annual general meeting, held on April 29.
Mr. McIntosh is a chartered accountant and brings extensive financial experience to the board, while Mr. Wood has extensive experience in the resource sector, including the technical and economic evaluation of projects. A biography of both Mr. McIntosh and Mr. Wood can be found below.
Mr. McIntosh and Mr. Wood join Ces Iewago (chairman), Greg Heaney (president and chief executive officer) and Arthur Alexander as directors of the company.
Mr. McIntosh
Mr. McIntosh is a senior managing director, corporate finance, of New York Stock Exchange-listed FTI Consulting and chairman of the Australian Securities Exchange-listed entity Eureka Group Holdings Ltd. In addition, Mr. McIntosh was a director of ASX 200 mining services company Industrea Ltd. until its takeover by GE in November, 2012. He advises a number of mining services and mining companies, and is a chartered accountant who brings financial discipline to all matters in which he is involved. He brings extensive mining and mining services experience.
Mr. Wood
Mr. Wood has over 20 years experience in the resource sector with both major and junior resource companies, and has extensive experience in the technical and economic evaluation of resource projects throughout the world. Mr. Wood's expertise is in project identification, negotiation, acquisition and corporate development. Mr. Wood has an honours degree in geology from the University of New South Wales in Australia and a graduate certificate in mineral economics from the Western Australian School of Mines. Mr. Wood is currently a director of ASX-listed Voyager Resources Ltd., Caravel Energy Ltd., Lindian Resources Ltd., Haranga Resources Ltd., Wolf Petroleum Ltd., Black Star Petroleum Ltd., Oakland Resources Ltd. and Avanco Resources Ltd. Mr. Wood is a founding director in venture capital and advisory firm Garrison Capital Pty. Ltd.
Annual general meeting update
The company is pleased to advise that all resolutions put to the annual general meeting, including the election of directors, the appointment of auditors and the approval of the company's stock option plan, were passed at the meeting. The meeting was held on April 29.
