NovaGold Resources Inc. will list an additional 35 million shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange at the open on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, according to the TSX. As in a Feb. 2, 2012, prospectus supplement, NovaGold plans to sell 35 million shares at $9.50 (U.S.) each, raising $332.5-million (U.S.). It has granted the underwriters an overallotment option to buy up to 5.25 million more shares at the same price for 30 days from the closing of the offering. The company plans to use the money raised for permitting and continued development at its Donlin gold project, for care and maintenance activities, exploration and engineering studies at Galore Creek, for the spinout of NovaCopper, which includes exploration at the Ambler project, for closure activities at the Rock Creek mine, and for general corporate purposes.
