The International Speculator in its Aug. 2, 2010, issue, says hold Almaden Minerals Ltd. (94 cents). The newsletter said buy 10 times between March 4, 2003, and Sept. 2, 2009, at prices ranging from 68 cents to $3.25. Assuming a $1,000 investment for each buy, the $10,000 investment is worth $6,151. The Speculator's writer heads to the press release cupboard, but finds it empty. The lack of developments is not a source for worry or complaint. He says there remains "excellent potential" at the high-grade Elk project in British Columbia and the large-scale Caballo Blanco project in Mexico. While last month he griped about the lack of news, especially from Caballo Blanco, this time he says no news simply means there is no compelling reason to sell. As for a price that would make him want to add to his Almaden position, "Absent positive, game-changing news, 50 cents would get our attention, but there's plenty of discovery potential in this play, and drills are turning," he enthuses. Fellow newsletter writer Brien Lundin said buy Almaden seven times between September, 2002, and April, 2010, at prices ranging from 55 cents to $2.93, in his Gold Newsletter.
