TMX GROUP EQUITY FINANCING STATISTICS - APRIL 2013

TMX Group Ltd. has provided an update on financing activity on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange for April, 2013.

The Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 10 new issuers in April, 2013, compared with 15 the previous month and 16 in April, 2012. The new listings include six exchange-traded funds, three real estate companies and one mining company. Total financings raised were down 66 per cent from March, 2013, but were up 6 per cent, year over year. The total number of financings was 45 in April, 2013, which is down from 73 the previous month and 55 in April, 2012.

The TSX Venture Exchange listed nine new issuers in April 2013, which is up from six in the previous month but down from 15 in April, 2012. The new listings include four mining companies, four companies from the capital pool company program and one real estate company. Total financings raised decreased 52 per cent from March, 2013, and 54 per cent from April, 2012. There were 121 financings in April, 2013, compared with 147 the previous month and 138 the same month last year.
