The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a lethargic 44-55-154 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose fractionally to 934. Polished prices rebounded 0.5 per cent Monday after falling 2 per cent over the weekend. Lukas Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) traded actively, gaining four cents to 89 cents on 1.49 million shares. Lucara, quiet for the past few weeks, is one of the few recent successes in the diamond sector as its Karowe mine generates strong cash flow. Lionel Leveille and Richard Boudreault's Orbite Aluminae Inc. (ORT) continues to slump. Orbite, down six cents to 70 cents on 950,000 shares, has had two quiet weeks, which is just as well because its news this year has been disquieting. A series of construction cost overruns at its high purity alumina plant on Gaspe peninsula have given investors the jitters: a share cost $5.69 two years ago.
