James Dines, writing in a Feb. 28, 2014, issue of The Dines Letter, says buy Medical Marijuana Inc. at 29 U.S. cents. This is the first time he has recommended the stock, which he includes in his new supervised list, Pot Luck Picks. He does not discuss the company in this issue; he just includes the buy on the newsletter's back page. Elsewhere in the newsletter, Mr. Dines warns of an emerging illness in California that has already afflicted around two-dozen children. After what doctors are calling a "respiratory event," Mr. Dines says that the sick children lose control in one or more limbs entirely and the limbs then dangle like empty balloons. Suspicion immediately fell on the polio virus, he says, but that was ruled out because all the children had been vaccinated for it. Since then, comparable illnesses have started cropping up in Australia and Asia. As this issue went to print, Mr. Dines had no further information about the illness. He says children with sudden limb weakness should seek attention from a pediatrician immediately.
