Danish Foreign Minister to Visit IBM Global Watson Internet of Things Headquarters in Munich

Foreign Minister to Witness How New IoT, Artificial Intelligence and Industry 4.0 Innovations Are Transforming Industries

MUNICH, April 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen is visiting its global Watson Internet of Things (IoT) headquarters in Munich. During his visit, Foreign Minister Samuelsen will get an in-depth look at the work IBM is doing around Industry 4.0, IoT and artificial intelligence (AI) as well as a tour the industry's first ever cognitive collaboratories.

In February of this year, IBM announced that official opening its global Watson IoT headquarters. The center, part of a $200M investment made by the company, is the largest allocation made in Europe over the last 20 years and today is allowing IBM to transform customer operations through a combination of IoT and AI. New innovations coming out of the facility include cognitive manufacturing capabilities designed to help businesses enter the Industry 4.0 era. The latest example of this is the IBM Cognitive Visual Inspection, which was announced today at Hannover Messe 2017.

Working hand-in-hand, these teams are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in areas such Industry 4.0, automotive, banking, smart buildings and transportation.
