Verizon Wireless extends offer to take care of talk, text and data charges over regular plans for customers in Hurricane Matthew impacted areas

As recovery begins and the areas of greatest impact from Hurricane Matthew are identified, Verizon evolves its offer to help customers recover from the storm.

GREENVILLE, S.C., Oct. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As customers on the east coast begin returning to their homes and start the process of recovery, Verizon is there to help.  Today, Verizon announces an expansion of their offer for customers in qualified areas in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Wireless communication is essential to stay in touch with loved ones, contact emergency resources and help with recovery efforts related to a hurricane like the one that devastated the east coast. Verizon Wireless customers who wish to help with Hurricane Matthew Relief efforts, via mobile phone, can donate by texting 80100 with the word "MATTHEW." Customers will receive a text response asking them to confirm the $10 donation. By texting their billing zip code, the user agrees to the terms and conditions. Donations are collected for the benefit of the GlobalGiving—Hurricane Matthew Relief Fund.
