Pratt & Whitney to Provide Lufthansa with PurePower® Engines for 30 Additional A320neos

EAST HARTFORD, Conn., April 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lufthansa has selected Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1100G-JM engines for an additional 30 A320neo family aircraft. This order will bring the total number of PW1100G-JM engine-powered aircraft in Lufthansa's fleet to 60. Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2019 and continue through 2021. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Lufthansa previously selected Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1100G-JM engines in 2011 for its order of 30 A320neo family aircraft with deliveries starting in 2015.

To date, the PurePower engine family has more than 5,300 orders and commitments, including options, from more than 50 global customers.
