S&T Bank Announces Recipients of the 2015 Smart Start Scholarship

Four Local Students Awarded $2,500 Scholarships to Further Their Education

INDIANA, Pa., June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- S&T Bank, a full-service financial institution with assets of $6.0 billion, branch locations in 16 southwestern and southcentral Pennsylvania counties, and loan production offices in northeast and central Ohio, and western New York, is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2015 Smart Start scholarship. Four students have been granted $2,500 in scholarship money towards one year of post-secondary study.

The 2015 S&T Bank Smart Start scholarship winners are:

  • Kylee Buchanich, a native of Murrysville, Pa., and recent graduate of Franklin Regional High School, plans to attend a four-year college to continue her education;
  • Hannah Dragoo, a native of Revloc, Pa., and graduate of Central Cambria High School, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at Clarion University;
  • James Kromka, a native of Monroeville, Pa., and recent graduate of Gateway High School, plans to pursue a degree in Engineering at a four-year college before continuing on to medical school; and
  • Noelle Lemons, a native of Kittanning, Pa., and graduate of Kittanning Senior High School, is currently pursuing a degree in Biochemistry at Allegheny College and plans to continue on to medical school.

S&T Bank Smart Start Banking Scholarships are given annually to deserving local students. Any high school senior or recent graduate with an S&T Bank Smart Start checking account is eligible to receive the $2,500 scholarship, to be used towards college or vocational schools in the United States. Entrants are awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, leadership, character, and contributions to school and community.
