STW Water Wins Contract To Design And Construct Reverse Osmosis Concentrator For Horizon City, Texas

2014-09-30 11:52 ET - News Release

STW Will Assist in the Design, Build and Installation of a reverse Osmosis Concentrator inline at the Reverse Osmosis Facility for the Horizon City Municipal Utility District

MIDLAND, Texas, Sept. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- STW Resources Holding Corp (OTC QB: STWS) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, STW Water, was selected for the custom design, engineering and construction of the Horizon City Municipal Utility District Reverse Osmosis Concentrator.  Only 2 firms eligible to design this particular concentrator, STW was selected as the manufacturer/technology integrator for the $2.2 million project. Design and engineering has already begun, manufacturing of the equipment will start in November, and the installation and build-out will begin in the first week of January 2015. Project completion is expected in the second quarter of 2015. STW Water will maintain the system under a contract with Horizon City.

The Issue and STW's Solution:

The existing municipal reverse osmosis plant in the City of Horizon is 10 years old and can produce only 7 to 9 million gallons per day of processed water.  According to the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the facility discharges approximately 1 million gallons per day of brine water unsuitable for human consumption which goes to existing evaporation ponds. Because these ponds didn't evaporate at the anticipated rate, there is a need for more ponds, but with limited land availability, additional ponds are not a viable option.

STW's solution is to design and manufacture the reverse osmosis concentrator to remedy the evaporation pond issue while neutralizing potential environmental concerns. With the new system, approximately one-half of the effluent (processed water) can be utilized and half can be reclaimed back into the distribution system.  It can be blended with permeate from the other reverse osmosis systems into the final tanks.  The concentrator itself is an economical alternative to land acquisition and additional ponds for other municipalities.

STW Water Process & Technologies, along with their manufacturers, will provide custom-designed reverse osmosis concentrators with interval clean-in-place (CIP) technology approved by the TCEQ.  This type of concentrator is only the 2nd approved in the State of Texas—both of which have been overseen by Alan Murphy, STW Water President. The project will be a lucrative and cost-effective investment for the City of Horizon.

STW Resources Holding Corp CEO Stanley Weiner added,  "This is one of many projects that STW Water is working on and it bodes well that Alan has the technical knowledge of the systems required for municipal projects of this nature. This also follows our model of designing and the construction of water processing systems that have a minimum or no negative impact on the environment while helping preserve or precious fresh water resources."

STW Water President Alan Murphy stated, "Winning this contract is very important for STW since many of our potential customers are municipalities that will be awarding contracts through the public bid process. Other municipalities will learn to recognize STW Water as a major player in the market to design, manufacture, install and maintain quality systems for the municipal marketplace."

About STW Resources Holding Corp.

STW Resources Holdings Corp. consults and provides customized water analysis, reclamation and remediation services to a variety of complex oil and gas produced and flowback water, brackish water, industrial, and municipal applications throughout several geographic locations. As an independent solutions provider, STW utilizes proven technologies, from various well-known manufacturers, including Salttech, a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technology that is economically feasible to use. These technologies are available as fixed or mobile units with varying capabilities. STW's process ensures that the most effective and efficient technologies are implemented. Current potential project locations include the Eagle Ford Shale (TX), the west Texas Delaware and Permian Basins (TX), and eastern New Mexico.  STW is also involved in the oilfield dirt construction business providing roads, pits, locations, and water pond construction. It also offers evaporation covers for the elimination of evaporation on frack ponds used throughout the oilfield.  Evaporation causes the operators millions of dollars in losses annually. Covering the ponds is a conservational and economic method of preserving one of our natural resources and can be floated on to existing ponds or installed during construction.  It also eliminates algae growth, doubles as a bird net, and reduces erosion of pond infrastructure. High quality liners with fusion-welded seams, quality control testing including air tests of seams and destruction testing are also standard. STW Energy, a subsidiary of STW Resources Holding Corp, offers a turnkey rig washing service. STW services include roustabout services for several major oil and gas producers too. STW's Pipeline Maintenance & Construction division aids oil & gas companies in connecting new wells so the oil & gas can be sold to market and helps maintain the integrity of their existing pipeline infrastructure.
