HOUSTON, April 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass added World Cup champion midfielder Carli Lloyd to its lineup of pioneering #BrightFutures brand ambassadors, tapping the Houston Dash standout who electrified soccer fans worldwide with her historic hat trick in the U.S. team's victory in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup final.
Lloyd is one of the most recognizable names in U.S. professional soccer. A two-time Olympic gold medalist, she made history with her three goals in the U.S. women's national soccer team's 5-2 victory over Japan last summer. After her remarkable season, she was named the 2015 FIFA Women's Player of the Year.

The news comes on the heels of the bank naming another barrier-breaking female athlete, San Antonio Spurs Assistant Coach Becky Hammon, as one of its brand ambassadors.

Lloyd and other Houston Dash players, including fellow World Cup champion midfielder Morgan Brian, were at the BBVA Compass branch in Houston'sRiver Oaks area earlier Thursday to unveil their new away uniform, which boasts the BBVA Compass logo. The bank is the Official Jersey Sponsor of the Houston Dash, part of its commitment to growing the sport of women's soccer. It also sponsors the men's Major League Soccer team, the Houston Dynamo. In 2015, BBVA Compass announced Dynamo forward Giles Barnes as one of its brand ambassadors.
Lloyd will also be part of the #BrightFutures campaign that supports the bank's brand position that keeps clients, and their needs, at the forefront to help them stay in control of their financial lives.
