BBVA Compass names new city president in Phoenix, one of its top markets

-Commercial banker a proven leader
-Bank promotes Brad Parker, who has worked in Phoenix for nearly a decade
-Executive brings more than 20 years of banking experience

HOUSTON, Oct. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass promoted Brad Parker to city president in Phoenix, where he'll be in prime position to help increase brand awareness and produce strong results in one of the bank's most important markets. He replaces Lynne Herndon, who was named the bank's Chief Credit Risk Officer for Commercial Banking.

Parker joined BBVA Compass more than a year ago as Commercial Banking manager after spending nearly a decade in leadership positions with U.S. Bank in Phoenix. In that role, Parker was responsible for all middle market, corporate and specialized industries.

He started his banking career more than two decades ago in Cleveland, Ohio, before relocating to Phoenix in 2004. He's an active member of the community and serves on the board of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Arizona State University and the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.
