SPYRUS NcryptNshare(TM) Product Line Answers National Concerns for Increased Privacy and Integrity of Corporate and Personal Data

2016-05-11 03:01 ET - News Release

SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/11/16

SPYRUS, Inc., a global leader in certified hardware-based security and encryption solutions for enterprise and government markets, today announced its NcryptNshare product line to encrypt, seal, and share enterprise and personal data in enterprise and cloud-based systems. NcryptNshare integrates RES applications software with the Rosetta hardware security module present in all SPYRUS security devices to provide unprecedented cryptographic robustness and ease of use in Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 environments. Now available for the commercial market, NcryptNshare was originally developed to protect government data against cyberattacks by using SPYRUS military-grade hardware-based file encryption for collaborative data-sharing and transport between secure enclaves.

The Rosetta Hardware "Root of Trust" securely enables NcryptNshare's end-to-end confidentiality, digital signature-based integrity, non-repudiation and identity to protect such enterprise use cases as financial and legal transactions, research data analytics, enterprise business data and intellectual property, and Personally Identifiable Information healthcare records. Internet of Things (IOT) use applications include millions of appliances requiring absolute device authentication, defense against cyberattacks to command and control data, and protection for sensitive content which is used in critical power grids, Machine-to-Machine (M2M), vehicle communications, and intelligent monitoring systems.

NcryptNshare applications being introduced for the Microsoft Office suite include RES4Office, RES Pro, and RES Disk with additional solutions for other operating environments in development. RES4Office is an Office 2010, 2013, 2016, and Office 365 desktop application toolbar add-on that enables easy to use, encrypt and share WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, VISIO, and PROJECT applications. The owner's digital identity and the confidentiality and integrity of all data stored in SharePoint or Microsoft, Google, AWS, Box, DropBox or other cloud services are now completely controlled by the data owner and not the cloud service provider. This end-to-end encryption approach allows a customer and their collaboration partners to use one or more cloud provider services regardless of the cloud provider's underlying IT infrastructure.

"The challenge facing many enterprise and government organizations is that current collaboration software solutions do not adequately protect digital identity keys of the data owner or the encryption keys created to secure sensitive data from being corrupted by malware or compromised by sophisticated cyberattacks," said Tom Dickens, COO, SPYRUS. "In cloud environments, these critical keys are never actually in the hands of the data owner effectively weakening reliance on trusting the true identity of the owner or the confidentiality of the data. Use of the SPYRUS NcryptNshare application delivers IT organizations a cost-effective way to add defense in depth protection for personal and device digital identities, cryptographic keys, and sensitive data from cyber threats and meet regulatory compliance requirements for data encryption."

The NcryptNshare suite of Windows applications will feature unsurpassed data protection and secure file-sharing using cloud collaboration solutions. NcryptNshare applications are the only file sharing solutions that apply advanced elliptic curve cryptography to provide key and data protection in hardware. SPYRUS patent pending encrypt, seal, and sharing security service can guarantee users are notified of malware alterations before files are decrypted hence preventing malware infiltration into the corporate network.

SPYRUS end-to-end encrypt, seal, and sharing solutions begin by creating and enforcing the root of trust in Rosetta-token enabled devices such as SPYRUS bootable Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) certified Windows To Go USB live drives, P-3X Encrypting Drives, and Rosetta USB Smart Cards. Rosetta supports business policies for the generation and protection of digital identities, encryption, and signature keys in a FIPS 140-2 Level 3 security container. With Rosetta devices, digital identities between data originators and external recipients can be verified and validated to enforce trust in an organization's defined set of communities. This is also true when used in machine-to-machine networks used for IoT communications.

According to a recent report by the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC), the worst year since 2005 for breaches was 2014 closely followed by 2015. Statistically in 2015, approximately 40% of these breaches came from the business sector, and the balance from the Health/Medical, Banking/Credit/Financial, and Government/Military. While financial gain remains the primary motive for stealing data, a shift to new motives includes nation-state theft of intellectual property and business information, radical terrorism, social justice and targeted embarrassment, all of which require that organizations must change how what data, created by and communicated among their employees and contractors, is to be kept private and protected. 2016 is expected to have more massive cybercriminal attacks by nations, terrorists and professional "for-hire" hackers. SPYRUS NcryptNshare military-grade hardware-enabled applications were designed and have been certified to provide the powerful defenses needed against these dangerous threats to your information assets.
