STONY BROOK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 04/10/15

Applied DNA Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: APDN) (Twitter: @APDN), a provider of DNA-based anti-counterfeiting technology supply chain and product authentication solutions, participated in a media event today, Friday, April 10, 2015, in Huntington Station, New York. The company announced plans to utilize APDN's DNAnet kits for home asset marking and protection. In attendance were Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Suffolk County Legislator William R. Spencer, M.D., Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory and Chief James Burke of the Suffolk County Police Department. Also in attendance were Deputy Inspector William Read of Suffolk County 2nd Precinct, Chief Ric Bruckenthal, Village of Northport Police and Keith Barrett, President of the Huntington Station Business Improvement District.

DNAnet comes as a turnkey kit, ready to use and complete with home and vehicle alert signs. Communities can use signage to assert that DNAnet is being employed in their community to prevent crimes. Each kit has a unique DNA mark with the capacity to mark up to 100 items. Application is easy, involving a quick swab of DNAnet onto an item, followed by registration of the item on a secure site. Kits will be available for sale on our website www.adnas.com.

"For the first time ever, a U.S. law enforcement agency is empowered by DNAnet, a forensic tool that can identify the rightful owners of lost or stolen property," stated Dr. James A Hayward, President and CEO of Applied DNA Sciences.
