NEW YORK -- (Business Wire)
Macquarie Infrastructure Company (NYSE: MIC) announced that it has
appointed Alicia Moy to the position of President and Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) of its HAWAIʽIGAS business.
Ms. Moy succeeds Jeffrey M. Kissel, who has served as President and CEO
of the business since 2007. Mr. Kissel has decided upon early retirement
in order to focus more time on his work on economic initiatives to lower
the cost of doing business in Hawaii.
“I’m thrilled and honored to become part of the HAWAIʽIGAS team,”
said Ms. Moy. “HAWAIʽIGAS is a critical part of Hawaii’s clean
energy future and I’m proud to join this group of dedicated energy
professionals that have provided safe and reliable gas service to the
people of Hawaii for more than 100 years.”
Ms. Moy worked on the acquisition of HAWAIʽIGAS on behalf of
Macquarie Infrastructure Company (MIC), in 2005 and 2006. Since then,
she has overseen MIC’s investment in HAWAIʽIGAS and has been a
member of the Board of Directors of HAWAIʽIGAS since 2011. Ms.
Moy has led a number of initiatives on behalf of HAWAIʽIGAS,
including the successful refinancing of its long-term debt in 2012.
Since joining the Macquarie Group in 2001, Ms. Moy has gained extensive
leadership experience with several Macquarie-managed utility businesses
in North America, including the development, funding, and execution of
their strategic plans. As an energy insider, her experience has been and
will continue to be an important asset to HAWAIʽIGAS. Ms. Moy began her
career in the Investment Banking division of Morgan Stanley in New York.
“We’re extremely pleased to be able to place the leadership of HAWAIʽIGAS
in Alicia’s hands. Having overseen our acquisition of HAWAIʽIGAS
and worked with the business for the past eight years, she is the
logical successor. We have complete confidence in Alicia, given her
talent and deep knowledge of the business and her vision for the next
phase of its growth,” said James Hooke, Chairman of the Board of HAWAIʽIGAS
and CEO of MIC.
“We appreciate the contributions Jeff Kissel has made,” Mr. Hooke
continued. “The company has continued to grow and prosper during his
tenure.”
HAWAIʽIGAS is the owner and operator of the only regulated
(“utility”) gas processing and pipeline distribution network in the
Hawaiian Islands. The business is also the owner and operator of the
largest unregulated (“non-utility”) propane gas distribution business on
the islands.
