OMAHA, Neb. -- (Business Wire)
Werner Global Logistics, a subsidiary of premier transportation and
logistics provider Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ: WERN), hosted its sixth
annual International Shippers Networking Event April 23 in Valley, Neb.
Craig Stoffel, vice president of Global Logistics, said the numerous
complex disciplines of international business – including supply chain
management, trade financing, risk management and legal and regulatory
compliance – can change throughout the year, which makes it vital for
key companies from throughout the region to share best practices.
“It’s important for members of the international shipping community to
have a forum to discuss the specific challenges we face as an industry,”
said Stoffel, who served as the event’s emcee. “Werner Global Logistics
is proud to provide a collaborative environment that allows
international importers, exporters and industry experts the opportunity
to explore these issues and brainstorm potential solutions that will
help propel their businesses to the next level.”
During the event, Stoffel provided an update on Werner’s continued
commitment to lead the industry with its green initiatives, which
includes adding 10 CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) trucks to its fleet;
highlights from their recent attendance at the Trans-Pacific Maritime
Conference; Werner’s recent cross-border partnership with a rail
provider; and the company’s expanded domestic capacity in the China
market.
