Grand opening weekend celebration to include special guests from Dallas Cowboys

Sam’s Club will open its newest club in El Paso this Thursday. The doors will officially open following an 8 a.m. grand opening ceremony at the club located at 9498 Gateway North in El Paso.

The event will focus on the company’s commitment to community. In addition to bringing more than 170 jobs to the area, the membership warehouse club will give residents and small business owners the opportunity to access incredible deals and amazing finds on quality merchandise, including products made in Texas.

“Our team has had the great opportunity to volunteer in this community over the past few months,” said Club Manager Rachel Maynes. ”We look forward to continuing to be involved and getting to know our neighbors when we open the doors this week.”

Sam’s Club associates selected several local organizations to receive more than $20,000 in community giving grants. In the last fiscal year, Sam’s Club, and parent company Walmart, gave more than $111 million to non-profits in the state of Texas. The following local organizations will be presented checks prior to Thursday’s grand opening:

Grand Opening ceremony features local officials, special events

Northeast City Representative Carl Robinson and members of multiple area Chambers of Commerce will be among those in attendance at Thursday’s Grand Opening ceremony. The Chapin High School Honor Guard will present colors and the Chapin High School Choir will perform the National Anthem at the grand opening.

Sam’s Club will showcase a variety of food samples and product demonstrations. Special showcase events include Texas favorite, Western Décor.

To add to the excitement of the grand opening, the club will host celebrity appearances and autograph signings over grand opening weekend including:

• Tyler Clutts, Dallas Cowboys fullback on Thursday, Jan. 22 from 2-4 p.m.
• Daryl Johnston, former Dallas Cowboys fullback on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 2-4 p.m.

Free health screenings are offered monthly to both members and the public by the Sam’s Club Pharmacy. Grand opening screenings will assess cholesterol, blood pressure, vision, hearing and a variety of other wellness areas, and will run Thursday, January 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and January 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
