2014-07-29 18:41 ET - News Release

MEDFORD, Ore. -- (Business Wire)

Mike Sickels, chairman of the Board for People’s Bank of Commerce (OTCBB:PBCO), is pleased to announce the appointment of Roy Vinyard and Lindsay Berryman to its board of directors.

Vinyard joined Asante — the region’s largest employer — as president and chief executive officer in 1999. With over 4,200 employees spanning Jackson and Josephine counties, and $1.7 billion in gross annual revenue, under his leadership, Asante has been named by Truven Health Analytics© as one of the 15 Top health systems and 100 Top regional medical centers in the United States.

Vinyard has been recognized nationally by the American Hospital Association for his advocacy and by Oregon Business magazine as one of the Top 50 Oregon Business Movers and Shakers. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems, Health Future, the Oregon Health Leadership Council, and Oregon Health Enterprises.

Locally, Vinyard is a board member for Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Hearts & Vines and the Crater Lake Council of the Boy Scouts. He previously served on the American Hospital Association Health Care Systems Governing Council and as a state delegate for the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board.

The first woman mayor of Medford, Lindsay Berryman is currently the owner and president of Sacca di Italiana, a business which imports and sells fine leather handbags. Previously, she worked as a residential real estate agent with Van Horn Real Estate and founded and developed the Cookie Connection, both in Medford.

Berryman has had a long history of volunteer and government service, including two esteemed appointments by Governor John Kitzhaber to the Oregon Land Conservation and Development Commission and the Oregon Progress Board. Additionally she spent 22 years with the city of Medford, having served on the Medford City Council and Medford Urban Renewal Agency. She was also a member of the National and Regional Advisory Councils of the Small Business Administration.

Berryman has served on several volunteer boards including current membership with the Board of Directors for the Southern Oregon Humane Society. Other board service has included the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Collier Center for the Performing Arts, and the Rogue Gallery and Art Center.

Berryman is the recipient of several honors, including the National Award for Excellence in Volunteer Leadership, Midwest Center of Nonprofit Leadership and the Women in Business Advocate of the Year award for the Small Business Administration.

“We are privileged to have Roy and Lindsay as part of the People’s Bank team,” says Chairman Sickels. “With the Rogue Valley's growth as the fourth largest city in Oregon and its rising reputation as the premier regional medical hub, their combined expertise will be a great asset for the bank. We are very fortunate to add Roy and Lindsay to our board.”
