Textainer Group Holdings Limited (TGH) (Textainer), the world’s largest lessor of intermodal containers based on fleet size, today announced that it has named Alvin Chong as Vice President and head of the Resale Division succeeding Stefan Mackula, and promotes Anthony C. Sowry to Senior Vice President, Operations and Acquisitions.

Mr. Chong served as Textainer’s Director of Resale for the Asia-Pacific region. He joined Textainer in May 1995 and has more than 23 years of experience in the shipping line and container leasing industry. Mr. Chong has a Master of Science in Finance from the National University of Ireland and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from La Trobe University, Australia.

Prior to Mr. Sowry’s promotion to Senior Vice President, he has served as Vice President, Corporate Operations and Acquisitions since 1997. He joined Textainer in 1982 as Fleet Quality Control Manager in Textainer’s London office and has since been promoted to a number of executive management positions with increasing levels of responsibility. Mr. Sowry was educated in London and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies.
