In-club screenings available on Saturday, October 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

While men are well known for avoiding the doctor, a recent survey found that 82% of women say they would rather do all of their family’s grocery shopping than go to the doctor.* To help encourage women to prioritize their health and to offer them a convenient way to do so, Sam’s Club is hosting free health screenings on Saturday, October 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while supplies last.

These “Support Her Health” screenings are confidential and available to both members and the public at all Sam’s Club locations with a pharmacy (618 locations). They are valued at up to $150 and will include the following tests:**

• Total cholesterol
• HDL (good cholesterol)
• Blood pressure
• Body fat percentage
• Glucose
• Vision (not available at all locations)
• Hearing (not available at all locations)

“Women often prioritize their families’ needs and work responsibilities over their own health and wellness but it’s important to ensure regular health checkups don’t fall off the to-do list,” said Tara Raddohl, senior director, corporate communications, Sam’s Club. “With that in mind, we hope women take advantage of our free in-club screenings this Saturday, as an easy way to learn more about the current state of their health.”

Sam’s Club offered a similar screen for men back in June, as well as other free events during the year, as part of its comprehensive commitment to support health and wellness.

In addition to free health screenings, Sam’s Club Pharmacies provide other savings and preventive care to each community they serve, such as year-round immunizations.*** Eligible Sam’s Club Plus members can also save more on prescriptions, including exclusive discounts on select generic prescriptions, some of which are available free of charge or at a discounted cost of $4 or $10 for a 30-day supply. The benefit is exclusively available to Plus members in addition to the Sam’s Club Extra Value Drug List, through which Business and Plus members also receive 10-30 percent savings on select brand name medications.
