Club plans to surprise with unexpected finds and 3D technology

MONTGOMERY, Ill. -- (Business Wire)

Sam’s Club will open a new Montgomery club at 1050 Ogden Ave. following a 7:45 a.m. Grand Opening ceremony Thursday, July 10. The membership warehouse club will give residents and small business owners the opportunity to access incredible savings on quality products, including the national and local brands they expect and aspire to, as well as some unexpected finds.

“We cannot wait to open our doors in Montgomery,” said Club Manager Marlee Carlson-Bryant. “We’ve stocked this club with incredible merchandise at amazing value, and the newest technology,” she continued.

Grand Opening ceremony features local officials, special events and 3D innovation

Village President, Matt Brolley, along with representatives from the Greater Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, will be participating in a ribbon cutting ceremony. Miss Chicago, Marisa Buchheit, will be on-hand to sing the National Anthem.

Free health screenings, open to members and the public, will be given opening day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and July 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to assess cholesterol, blood pressure, vision, hearing and a variety of other wellness areas.

The club will host multiple special appearances and autograph signing opportunities throughout the weekend, including visits from:

• Dan Hampton, former Chicago Bears defensive tackle
• Anthony Adams, former Chicago Bears defensive tackle
• Denis Savard, former Chicago Blackhawks coach

Also during the Grand Opening, Sam’s Club will showcase a variety of special events inside the club including Greenridge Farm and Original Juan specialty foods.

Members are invited to experience Marvel 3D Printing. The 3D experience allows members to transform themselves into personalized 3D characters. This attraction will let attendees get a 3D face scan and cast themselves as a Marvel superhero, available for purchase. This showcase delivers the first-ever mobile personalized merchandise platform for 3D printing that makes fans part of the story.

Quality products help small businesses and busy families

Sam’s Club is expanding upon its unique, shopper-friendly experience with this Montgomery club. Busy families can rely on fresh produce, quality meats and home meal solutions, while office supplies, vending machine snacks and paper goods prepare small business members for success. Other benefits for small business owners include early shopping hours, personal shopping through Click ‘n’ Pull, truck-load savings and access to quality items most often used by foodservice businesses, restaurant owners and caterers. Measuring approximately 136,000 square feet, the new club will feature a variety of members-only amenities, including a fresh bakery, a tire and battery center, a café and a fuel station.

A number of health and wellness services are also available. The Sam’s Club Pharmacy, open to both members and the public, features many $4 and $10 generic prescriptions, as well as extraordinary savings on branded prescriptions. In addition to everyday low prices, the Optical Center offers $40 off each additional pair of regularly priced prescription eyeglasses with the purchase of a complete pair of eyeglasses at regular price. Lastly, at the Hearing Aid Center, premium technology in hearing aids and personal listening devices is available.

New MasterCard Brings Additional Savings to Montgomery Members

Sam’s Club recently introduced a new credit card cash back program that gives members the opportunity to earn 5 percent cash back on fuel, 3 percent cash back on dining and travel, and 1 percent cash back on all other purchases, up to $5,000 annually. The Sam’s Club 5-3-1 cash back program on its new co-branded MasterCard, issued by GE Capital Retail Bank, is now available to qualifying Sam’s Savings, Sam’s Business and Sam’s Plus members. The cash back value proposition makes the new Sam’s Club program the most competitive credit reward program in the club category. Each credit card has an embedded chip that makes the card more difficult to duplicate, providing enhanced security from fraudulent activity. Club brings 180 new jobs to community

To staff the new Montgomery club, Sam’s Club has hired more than 180 new associates. Sam’s Club and parent company Walmart currently employ more than 50,000 people in the state of Illinois.
