Molina Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE:MOH) today announced that its Ohio health
plan subsidiary, Molina Healthcare of Ohio, Inc., was recognized with a Columbus
Business First Corporate Caring Award in the Health category for
medium-sized companies. Ninety-eight nominations were submitted this
year while fifteen were selected as honorees. Applications were judged
by a panel of industry experts.

underserved, so volunteering and charitable giving are ingrained in the
company’s culture. In coordinating care for Medicaid patients, we
partner on a daily basis with many terrific charitable organizations
that have a need for volunteers and donations; so many employees are
drawn to these organizations and want to do more to help.”
Molina Healthcare was nominated for the award by the Neighborhood House
for its work helping with basic supplies such as diapers, milk and
providing car seats for mothers with small children. Bruce Barcelo from
Public Health Dayton and Get Up! Montgomery County also nominated Molina
Healthcare for the Corporate Caring award.
In 2011, Molina Healthcare of Ohio employees collectively logged more
than 1,600 hours of recorded volunteer time and between the company and
employees made more than $105,000 in charitable contributions. Molina
Healthcare recently stepped up to the plate when Faith Mission’s food
pantry was running low, organizing a food drive, collecting donations
and sending volunteers to help out at the shelter.
