NEWARK, N.J. -- (Business Wire)
This month, Prudential Financial, Inc. [NYSE: PRU] is hosting the
Prudential Peak Leadership Conference, an interactive leadership program
designed to provide a diverse group of first and second year college
students with early exposure to career opportunities in the financial
services industry. The inaugural event, which will be held May 15 – 17
at Prudential’s global headquarters in Newark, NJ, is part of the
company’s increased commitment to creating a diverse pipeline of talent.
The two-day program will expose students from targeted colleges and
universities to the company and its potential career paths and will
allow students to network with professionals at every level, including
the most senior leadership. After completing the program, these
high-performing candidates will be invited to apply for one of many
internships at Prudential.
“We want to be competitive in identifying talent early in the campus
recruiting process to increase the flow of diverse talent into
Prudential,” said Ebony Thomas, director of campus and diversity
recruiting for Prudential. “Early identification programs like these not
only attract the best talent, but also expose pools of diverse talent to
career opportunities that have been traditionally unknown to them.”
To participate, candidates must be a freshman or sophomore in a
four-year undergraduate program, major in business and have a strong
interest in financial services. The program focuses on underrepresented
students with at least a 3.0 GPA.
According to Thomas, recognized world-class campus recruiting programs
traditionally identify and nurture talent during the freshman and/or
sophomore college years. That early exposure builds a more loyal
relationship with the organization and increases the likelihood that
those candidates seek employment opportunities after college.
“We’ve designed this program to attract some of the best and brightest
young people and to give them a first-hand look at the kinds of career
opportunities available to them at Prudential,” Thomas continued.
