Powin Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Powin Corporation (OTCQB: PWON), announced today it has appointed Jeffrey Grumbling as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Grumbling will lead Powin Energy’s efforts to bring its new battery and energy storage technologies to large scale commercial production and distribution.

Mr. Grumbling has more than 25 years’ experience building and leading retail and manufacturing operations throughout the United States. He is recognized as a subject matter expert on facilitating process change, and is certified in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies from Villanova University.

Before joining Powin Energy, Mr. Grumbling was Senior Vice President of Business Development with PEI Manufacturing of Portland, where he was responsible for new sales growth primarily to the optical industry. Prior to PEI, Mr. Grumbling spent seven years working for Carl Zeiss Vision, where he was Senior Director of Operations. His responsibilities accounted for nearly one half of all U.S. production.

Mr. Grumbling also spent more than a decade with Wal-Mart, excelling in multiple roles including Lab Director for Wal-Mart’s Optical Laboratory network, and Senior Division Manager for Manufacturing and Logistics. Under his leadership, the Wal-Mart optical lab network became one of the largest suppliers of optical eyewear in the United States.
