Rallying leadership in minority communities to combat continuing
foreclosure crisis
Event is sponsored by Ocwen Financial, Wells Fargo and Chase Bank
RIVERDALE, Md. -- (Business Wire)
HomeFree-USA today announces it will host the second in a series of
one-day Strategic Leadership Forums on Monday, November 3. The event in
Baltimore will bring about 100 nonprofit community leaders together with
lenders, servicers and local government officials to address the
continuing foreclosure crisis in minority communities.
The Strategic Leadership Forum will be held at the Renaissance Baltimore
Haborplace from 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday, November 3. The first Forum
was held in Chicago in October. The series will be completed in Miami in
December.
Our premier sponsor for the Forums is Ocwen Financial Services
(NYSE:OCN), fourth largest mortgage servicer in the U.S., and a leader
in foreclosure prevention. We are also grateful for the support of Wells
Fargo and Chase Bank as co-sponsors of our Baltimore Forum.
“It is well documented that minority communities were hardest hit by the
foreclosure crisis,” said Marcia Griffin, founder and president of
HomeFree-USA. “It is critical that mortgage companies, non-profit
leaders and housing advocates work together to help minority homeowners
save their homes, save their neighborhoods and rebuild their lives. We
have a long history of working with Ocwen to reach out to borrowers and
avoid foreclosure. We are proud to have Ocwen as our premier sponsor,
and keynote presenter at this event.”
“We are delighted to partner with an organization with the integrity and
passion of HomeFree to further our mission of foreclosure prevention,”
said Paul Koches, senior advisor at Ocwen and a featured speaker at the
Baltimore Forum. “These Forums enlist the help of community leaders in
working with housing advocates and industry players to help struggling
borrowers in minority communities hold onto their homes. Without housing
counselors and community advocates to help us with borrower outreach, we
could not maintain our leading position in foreclosure prevention.”
