L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL) announced today that its National Security
Solutions (L-3 NSS) business has been awarded the National
Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s (NGA’s) Information Technology
Enterprise Managed Services (ITEMS) Transport Services contract for
engineering, operations and sustainment services to NGA’s global
communications infrastructure. The five-year contract has an expected
value of $218 million, which includes projects that meet evolving IT
mission needs.

and solutions to the Intelligence Community,” said Les Rose, president
of L-3 NSS. “It’s our first major contract with the NGA, and we look
forward to partnering closely with them to help achieve their critical
mission.”
Under the contract, L-3 will provide services that include wired and
wireless Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), as
well as the associated equipment, security devices and cable
infrastructure needed to enable the secure, reliable and timely
transmission of data.
