OKLAHOMA CITY -- (Business Wire)

The Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) introduces online services for boat and outboard motor renewals at BOATS.ok.gov. This service is available anywhere, whether you’re at home gearing up for a fishing trip or out on one of Oklahoma’s many lakes.

The OTC has made renewing a boat or outboard motor easier than ever, with its online service, BOATS.ok.gov. All boats are required to be registered annually, with a few exceptions. All outboard motors more than ten (10) horsepower, with a few exceptions, are also required to be registered annually.

The registration period for boats and outboard motors is from July 1 through June 30 of the following year. Owners may register their boat or outboard motor for one or three years. Owners must carry the current boat and outboard motor registration in the boat while in operation.

The OTC continues to offer online renewals for vehicles through the Convenient Auto Renewal System at CARS.ok.gov and taxpayers can sign up for email reminders when their vehicle, boat, or outboard motor registration is due.

“The Oklahoma Tax Commission is proud to offer more online services for taxpayers which are easy and convenient. We believe BOATS.ok.gov and CARS.ok.gov are simple to use and offer added time savings to taxpayers,” said Paula Ross, Communications Director, Oklahoma Tax Commission. “We want to make the online renewal experience to be uncomplicated and easily accessible on any mobile device.”

BOATS.ok.gov and CARS.ok.gov are developed in partnership with the Oklahoma Tax Commission and Oklahoma Interactive, LLC. Oklahoma Interactive operates under a self-funded model, in which no tax dollars are used to develop or maintain this online service.
