DENVER -- (Business Wire)

Colorado Interactive dba Colorado.gov and the Colorado Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA) have spent the 2014 year migrating agency partners’ websites to a new Drupal CMS platform.

During the pilot year, an average of five partners per quarter opted to move to the Colorado.gov Drupal platform. Due to the simplicity of setting up new websites, additional partners quickly reached out to Colorado.gov and SIPA requesting inclusion in the 2014 schedule.

“During this first year of migrating our partners’ websites onto our Pacific platform, Colorado.gov and SIPA committed to migrating 20 agency websites. We are very excited to report that 38 partners have been migrated to date,” said Fred Sargeson, general manager at Colorado.gov. “We have exceeded expectations and are on target to see 12 additional websites launched in 2014.”

Drupal offers features and functionality surpassing the current Fatwire CMS in use by Colorado.gov. In addition, it enables state agencies to distribute information for public consumption at no cost to their organizations or constituents.

“SIPA and Colorado.gov oversee more than 200 websites and have seen tremendous growth with the move to Drupal,” said Gregg Rippy, executive director at SIPA. “We are excited to be able to offer this free service to local and state governments in Colorado. We anticipate more governments wanting to create or redesign their websites on Colorado.gov as a result of this improved platform.”
