DYSART, Iowa -- (Business Wire)
Dysart,
Iowa, is now accepting utility payments online and over-the-counter
with a new
payment processing service called PayPort. The city partnered with Iowa
Interactive to provide services enabling citizens to transact
securely with government online.
PayPort
is a Web-based payment processing system with a public interface and an
administrative module. It was developed specifically for processing
government transactions and is Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Data
Security Standard (DSS) compliant. The system accepts American Express,
Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards and eCheck payments
processed in real-time online, over-the-phone, or over-the-counter. The
robust administrative module is hierarchy-based enabling authorized
users a set of tasks from updating organizational information, managing
item lists and costs, adding new users, processing transactions through
the cashier function, and generating reports for reconciliation.
“We are very happy with the new system,” said Roxanne Schneider, Dysart
City Clerk. “It is all-inclusive—we can perform a multitude of tasks
easily from one online location.”
The city of Dysart partnered with Iowa
Interactive, LLC of Des Moines, to offer the new service at no cost
to taxpayers. It replaced an existing payment processing system that is
no longer supported.
